Beginning with Bana’s Korean Tarot in 2021,
and continuing with an oracle deck inspired by Korea’s 24 solar terms,
I have explored human emotions, time, and the flow of everyday life
through Korean symbols within the format of cards.
While the Tarot portrays characters and their stories,
and the 24 Seasons Oracle captures the rhythms of the seasons and time,
this Korean Lenormand seeks to capture
the reality of the here and now more closely.
Building on this ongoing body of work,
Bana’s Korean Lenormand is another step
in expanding a distinctly Korean artistic world.

Why Lenormand?
If Tarot reveals meanings of each step of one's life journey through narrative and emotions, Lenormand system offers more direct and practical answers at specific points of their life. Lenormand sometimes feels more intuitive, immediate, and practical for daily readings and guidance. This is why Bana chose to add Lenormand system to the Bana Korean Universe.

Unique Two-Deck System: 36 Object Cards & 36 Character Cards
Traditional Lenormand primarily reads situations and events via cards with symbolic objects. Bana Korean Lenormand expands that structure further, allowing the reader to also reflect who is involved, how they respond, and what choices they make within the situation.
Object cards reveal the events and flow surrounding a situation.
Character cards bring focus to attitude, relationships, decisions, and human dynamics within that flow.
While each set can also function fully on its own according to the classic Lenormand system, the two decks read in combination create more layered and detailed reading experience, connecting situations with people and the actions with intention.

Korean Symbols Reimagined Through Lenormand
Rather than creating a vague “Korean-style” aesthetic, each card was carefully connected to Korean cultural and spiritual symbols that closely reflect the original meaning of Lenormand.

Tree card holds an image of the Sacred Dangsan Tree of a Korean village shrine, symbolizing rooted strength and enduring life.

Cloud card is reimagined through the Paju Ryeong, an ancient bronze shamanic ritual bell, symbolizing the powerful spiritual energy and uncertainty.

House card draws inspiration from Seongju shin and the vessel worshipped as the deity's shrine, the traditional Korean guardian spirit of the home.

The 36 Character Cards expands on the the traditional Lenormand system while fully preserving its original symbolic structure and reading methods. These character cards add a new human layer to the reading experience, allowing situations, relationships, intentions, and emotional dynamics to be interpreted with greater depth.
Each figure was carefully designed through posture, expression, occupation, and gesture, helping the reading feel more vivid, personal, and dimensional while remaining fully compatible with traditional Lenormand readings.

Korean Lenormand Object Cards
Card Size: 58 × 78 mm (Mini Deck)
Material: 300gsm Art Paper
Finish: Vanish Coating / Blue Edges
The Object Cards follow the traditional Lenormand symbolic structure. They reveal situations, events, and the movements unfolding around you, allowing readings to feel immediate, practical, and direct.
The compact card size also follows the traditional Lenormand format, preserving the original divination experience of quickly laying out the cards and reading them intuitively in everyday life.
Each card was created based on classic Lenormand meanings, reimagined through Korean symbols, objects, and storytelling inspired by Bana’s interpretation. The reading system remains familiar, while the visual world offers something entirely new.

Two Different Card Sizes
The two decks were intentionally designed in two different sizes to create a clearer visual distinction and a more natural reading flow when used together.
The larger Character Cards naturally draw attention toward the central figures, emotional dynamics, and narrative direction of the reading, helping establish the overall focus and storyline of the spread.
The smaller Object Cards are designed to fit comfortably between the character cards or be used as supporting cards, adding detail, movement, and situational context to the reading.
Because of the difference in size, the roles and relatioships of each deck can be understood at a glance, making the overall reading structure feel more intuitive and visually organized, even for beginners.

Extensive, Color-Printed Guidebook
Step-by-Step Guide
Rather than simply listing card meanings, the guidebook is a beginner-friendly companion to learn from the basics of Lenormand to practical daily readings. Even for those completely new to Lenormand system, this guidebook was created to make the cards approachable, practical, and immediately usable from the very beginning.
It covers how single-card readings work, how card combinations interact, how to build and organize questions, and how to naturally follow the flow of a reading. The goal was to create a guide that helps readers understand not only what the cards mean, but how to actually use them the moment they are laid out.
Korean Ancient Culture, Stories, & Spiritual Wisdom
Throughout both decks, Korean myths, rituals, cultural traditions, and symbolic imagery were extensively researched and thoughtfully woven into the meaning of each Lenormand card.
The guidebook explores the stories and cultural background behind the symbols featured in the artwork, allowing readers to experience not only clear and insightful divination readings, but also the deeper wisdom and traditions that inspired each card.
Fully translated in English
The guidebook was fully translated in English, and the cultural & spiritual content was edited and verified by Seo Choi, Korean-American shaman, the creator of Morning Calm Oracle and many other books about Korean ancestral culture and spiritual wisdom.
